5 things that make life at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant special

Steel Plant is one of the more famous locales in the city of Visakhapatnam. In addition to holding several merits in steel production, the place also boasts of other specialties that make it an enjoyable place to live in for the residents here. Here are 5 such things that make our city’s steel plant special.

#1 The lush green space

In spite of being an industrial area, it is less polluted than other parts of the city. The management, along with the denizens, plants thousands of saplings every year. One will be proud to know that it has already surpassed the national limit of covering 33 percent of green belt land in the total area of 3,600 hectares in the year 2011. It also bagged a Guinness record by planting 60,000 species of plants in just half an hour.

#2 The places of worship

From Churches and Masjid to the umpteen number of temples, this place has a myriad of spots for worship and is a heaven for those looking for spiritual solace.

#3 The amazing parks

An amazing fact which one can’t deny is that you will find one park in every sector of the steel plant.  The parks are covered with a variety of flowers and in few parks, you will find lakes too. Nehru Park near sector 8 is where many people from different places come for ‘Chhath festival’ in winter. It is a perfect place to spend some quality time with family and friends and even has good selfie spots.

#4 Picnic Spots

Due to a lot of parks, temples and the peaceful environment, people from faraway places come here for spending their leisure time. College students too, from in and around the city come to have a wonderful experience.

#5 The quintessential Clubs

Steel plant has 2 community clubs which have a swimming pool, theatre, reading room, and gym. It even has restaurants and bakeries. Sports enthusiasts get to avail facilities such as a badminton court and snooker board among others. These clubs not only keep the denizens here entertained but also bring the people closer and helping in forging new bonds.
