Vizag city is all set to welcome the monsoon season in the coming few days according to the weather update. Compared to the hot weather in the past few days, the cool weather now is providing a much-needed relief to the Vizagites.
Cyclone Warning Centre in Vizag has reported that the cool weather is due to the cyclone hovering over the northern parts of west-central Bay of Bengal.
The maximum temperature in the city has been recorded at the airport today. The recorded temperature was 33.6 degrees Celsius which is less compared to the normal temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
The temperature also decreased in the neighbouring districts of Vizag. East Godavari district received the state’s highest rainfall of 91mm on Tuesday. Chintapalli and Araku valley received moderate rainfall too.
Speaking to YO! Vizag, an official from the Cyclone Warning Centre said, “ The update regarding the monsoon season will be informed after four days. The actual onset date for monsoon is June 6. But since no proper rainfall is recorded anywhere as of now, the update of monsoon is delayed to 4 days.”
