Be it for providing a breeding ground to many talented youngsters or standing special to many acclaimed international superstars, Vizag holds a special place in the state cricket. And now, thanks to some exceptional young cricketers, the city also looks deemed to some special things in Indian cricket. Here are a few such young cricketing talents from Vizag we need to look forward to.
Ricky Bhui
Ricky Bhui is deemed to be the next big thing in Indian Cricket. The talented youngster has already announced himself in the domestic circuits and is currently marching towards his dream of playing for the country. Scoring runs consistently, Bhui has now turned into a vital cog of his state team and was even a member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in this year’s IPL. The Vizag-born cricketer has had the opportunity of working closely with the likes of Tom Moody, VVS Laxman, Muttiah Muralitharan, and is surely one to look out for in the future.
Gulfaam Saleh
Gulfam Saleh is one of the fine cricketers from Vizag. The 22-year-old, who’s currently pursuing his degree from Bullaya College, Visakhapatnam, has been creating ripples in the local fraternities with his cricketing prowess. He has even hit six consecutive sixes in an over in a local tournament. Eventually, the young lad plans to play at the Ranji level and possibly make his IPL debut before making it big and fulfil his father’s dream of seeing him play for India.
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Taking a leap towards his dream of playing for the Indian cricket team, Vizag’s budding talent, K. Nitish Kumar Reddy has made it to the Under 19 squad. Being groomed by the district cricket association, Nitish has been making a name for himself with consistent performances in the domestic tournaments. The 2017-18 season of the U-16 division saw the youngster grab eyeballs by amassing as many as 1200 runs. Recognising his talent, BCCI also awarded him with the award of Best Cricketer.
