HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao recently announced that the completion of the construction of VUDA Children’s Theatre will be done by November 20. He visited the construction site with MP K Haribabu and enquired about the progress to VUDA Vice-Chairman T Baburao Naidu.
The VUDA Children’s Theatre we once had was demolished and is now being reconstructed in the same place with international standards. The reconstruction that costed Rs 22 crore will have an auditorium built in the ground floor to accommodate 400 people. It serves as a place to organise competitions for children. The first floor houses a sophisticated theatre with quality sound and lighting system.
He reminded people of the fact that while the previous government had neglected the theatre, it was the TDP government that had taken up the initiative to reconstruct it. The CM is reportedly keen on opening up the theatre for public at the earliest.
Vizag Film Society’s Narava Prakasa Rao previously submitted an appeal to the Vice-Chairman of VUDA seeking an early completion of the theatre and that it be dedicated only to children atleast on Children’s Day.
