Ekta Kapoor has hit the internet with a web series ‘Romil and Jugal’ and it is breaking all the stereotypes. It is a story of two boys in love with each other and their issues while struggling with the narrow minded society they live in.
This is a modern day adaptation of the classic Romeo and Juliet where two people fall in love but destiny has different plans for them. Gay romance has finally come out of the closet through this web series which is made by the queen of daily soaps herself.
Directed by Nupur Asthana, this is a series of two boys Romil and Jugal who strive to hide their sexuality in the narrow minded society but end up falling for each other. Jugal is a shy South Indian boy while Romil belongs to an outburst Punjabi family. The regular clashes in their families make a big problem for them while their sisters are showcased cute in their own way.
This web series by the Balaji production is very cute and will definitely add to spread a good message about homosexuality in India. First five episodes are available for free on the Balaji Telefilms website and application as well. You have to subscribe for the next few episodes but spending 100 rupees for the remaining episodes is totally worth it.
