Gone are the days when boring, traditional, red and gold wedding cards were the norm. Gali Janardhan Reddy, former Karnataka minister and mining baron, sent out an innovative wedding invitation for the wedding of his daughter Bramhani. The wedding that is to take place next month has an invite that comes in a turquoise box.
Not just any regular old chocolate or sweet box, the box contains an LED screen that plays a video. Reddy, his wife, daughter, son and son-in-law to-be feature in a video, lip-syncing to a Kannada song that was specially composed for the wedding. The setting, costumes and the whole video is so dunked in lavishness, it (almost) puts a KJo movie to shame. Twirly gowns and white stallions feature in the video.
The one-minute video ends with a close-up of the family and announces the date and venue of the wedding. The engagement last month was an opulent affair and the wedding next month is expected to be a star-studded event. With a wedding invite like this, imagine how the wedding would be.
Gali Janardhan Reddy is touted to be one of the richest men in India. He was arrested, accused of illegal mining and is now out on conditional bail.
