A trio of women bikers are, at the moment, covering the stretch from Puducherry to Kolkata. Spanning 2500 KMs, the trip that will take them two weeks is in hope to break gender stereotypes.
Vaishali Kulkarni More from Visakhapatnam is riding along with two other biking enthusiasts – Sonal Bhat and Anadgha Sant. Their ride is not just to break stereotypes but also to reportedly promote ‘Be Bold for Change’ – an initiative that is a part of International Women’s Day that falls on March 8.
The bikers who started their journey from Puducherry on February 23 will end up in Kolkata on March 8, covering six states and a union territory along the way. This makes Vaishali More the first woman biker from Andhra Pradesh to cover this section of the golden quadrilateral.
She earlier went on a solo ride from Visakhapatnam to Shiridi last year, covering 1700 KM. It was here that Sonal Bhat and Anadgha Sant – members of the All India Women Bikers Group from Pune – met her and bonded over shared interests.
