In what comes as a sad news to the numerous followers of Country Foods channel on YouTube, Mastanamma, the 107-year-old woman who inspired us with her cooking videos, is no more. The grandma, who was very active on the online streaming giant sharing delicious recipes and cooking tips, was also the world’s oldest YouTuber.
Popularly known as the ‘Cooking Queen’, Mastanamma belonged to Gudiwada of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. She had lost her husband early and as a mother of 5 children, she always had a penchant for cooking.
Mastanamma started her journey on YouTube about two years ago when her grandson uploaded a video that had her preparing brinjal curry. The video soon went viral and helped the YouTube channel gain many subscribers within a short span.
Today, thanks to the grandma’s culinary skills, the channel has as many as 1.2 million subscribers. Mastanamma’s fans include people from different corners of the world. The 107-year would be remembered introducing us to a number of unorthodox delicacies that include Watermelon Chicken, Egg Bhurji in Watermelon, Bread Gulab Jamun and many more.
